Do you feel it? The touch of coolness in the breeze as the leaves begin to change hinting at what is to come. The change in seasons allows us to take time to pause and begin to look at what we might want to transition or change in our professional and personal lives.

As we have coached leaders and their teams over the last 18 months, one thing we know is that everyone is exhausted. The ongoing nature of the global pandemic has created a crisis of compassion fatigue in many leaders. It is that feeling that you are “just done.” You are physical, emotional and psychological exhausted. Leaders at every level have been focused on supporting their employees and organizations. Who supports the leaders through these difficult complex times?

Executive Coaching can be a lifeline for leaders. One thing we know is that the higher you rise in an organization, the less honest feedback you receive. Ongoing feedback is even more critical in a remote-work environment where leaders are feeling frustrated by the lack of visibility of their own work by higher ups as well as the lack of understanding of their own team’s performance issues. As leaders take on more complex responsibilities it is critical that they receive feedback that facilitates not just their own careers but the growth of the organization. A recent McKinsey Global Survey found 68% of respondents said ongoing coaching and developmental feedback positively affected their performance. Executive coaching is about partnering with leaders in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. The process of coaching often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity and leadership.
